The main Compeer model provides friendship, support, and community to our clients. The Compeer program matches a client living with mental health challenges in a one-to-one friendship with one of our trained volunteers. The volunteer and the client spend time together, enjoying activities out in the Lebanon community, as well as attending Compeer’s socials and events.
This therapeutic companionship can help clients who are fighting with isolation, anxiety, and depression. The Compeer program has been recognized as evidenced based, which means it has been shown to have a positive impact on clients’ sense of security, self-esteem, positive risk taking, and communication skills.
Potential clients must be living in Lebanon County, must be referred by a mental health professional, and must have a mental health diagnosis in order to participate in the program. Volunteers for the program are matched with a client and must spend at least 4 hours per month with their match. Volunteers are always needed for the Compeer program! If you would like to volunteer, please visit our Volunteer page to learn more information and download an application.
