Staff Alane Stief Executive Director Originally from Berks County, Alane came to Lebanon County to attend Lebanon Valley College where she earned a B.A. in Sociology and Criminal Justice in 2005. She later earned her M.S. in Psychology and Behavioral Health from the University of Phoenix in 2015. Alane joined Compeer as the Executive Director in July 2016. Alane brought 11 years of experience working in the mental health field, walking with both adults and children along their path to mental wellness. She has a passion for helping others and is excited to continue to help the Compeer program grow. In her down time, Alane enjoys reading, exercising, and spending time outdoors hiking and kayaking. She also enjoys spending time with her Compeer friend playing games, walking and going out to eat. Jill Wikel Volunteer Coordinator Jill has been with Compeer since May 2014 and has served as the interim Executive Director twice, though her primary position as Volunteer Coordinator is training and supporting volunteers and friendship matches. Jill has worked for several organizations as a Volunteer Manager and also has experience in fundraising. Helping others live a life of service is Jill’s main goal, and one that she also accomplishes as Associate Rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Glen Mills, PA. Jill earned her B.A. in English (magna cum laude) from Boston University and her Masters of Divinity at Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, MA. Jill grew up in Massachusetts and has a deep love for all things New England, especially their accent and sports teams. She moved to Pennsylvania in 2002 and now calls this region home, where she lives with her husband and three daughters. Jill volunteers at Cornwall Elementary; and has a friendship match through Compeer. Jill’s favorite things to do are gardening, exercise, camping, reading, and anything that involves her family. Brian Outreach Coordinator Brian was born and raised in Massachusetts. He joined the Air Force and served as an Aircraft Crew Chief from 1971 to 1992, retiring with the rank of Master Sargent. During his years of service to our country, Brian received 2 Commendation Medals and a Meritorious Service Medal. After serving in the military, Brian went to Wilmington University in Delaware and graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Human Resources. He then worked with the Procter & Gamble. Afterwards, he was as a case manager for veterans seeking transitional housing and worked with veterans within the criminal justice system as an Employment Service Provider in St. Petersburg, FL. More recently, Brian has worked with adults with developmental disabilities enhancing their lives through social contact within the community. Brian is a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and Amvets. In his downtime, Brian likes sports, cooking, traveling, camping, and crafts. Brian joined Compeer in September 2016 as the Outreach Coordinator for the CompeerCORPS program. Joe Support Group Facilitator Joe was born and raised in Philadelphia. He earned a BS in Business Administration from St. Joseph’s University and was self-employed for 23 years in the printing business. Due to several circumstances near the end of his self-employment, he was diagnosed with a Major Depressive Disorder. As a result of his depression he lost his home due to foreclosure, lost his car to repossession, and filed bankruptcy. After leaving home for two months and being homeless, he was located by the police and admitted to a VA Medical Center; he lived there for six months. At discharge he applied for and was accepted as a Peer Support Specialist with Philhaven. He soon earned certification status for this; over the years he became a certified WRAP Facilitator, Advanced Level Facilitator, Peer Support Supervisor, and Director of Peer Services, retiring in 2014. Joe is a proud Navy Veteran, is a member of several Military Organizations, and volunteers for Compeer and at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He joined Compeer staff in January 2017 as the Support Group Facilitator. Abby Administrative Assistant Abby is a native of Lebanon County, growing up in Myerstown. She graduated from Northern Lebanon High School in the Class of 2013. Currently, she is attending Harrisburg Area Community College for a degree in Health Care Management and will be graduating at the end of summer (2017). She then wants to pursue her bachelors degree and eventually her masters degree, as well. She enjoys cooking, being with friends, and traveling.
